Ninth House Case Study
Situation/Challenge:
Tennyson Communications was tasked with jump starting a media relations program that had been largely left by the wayside during staffing changes.
Process/Solution:
At first, my job was to catch up on outstanding awards deadlines left forgotten the year before. I was eventually able to announce pending news of a new president coming on board and start a proper media outreach campaign to establish the company as the leader in its field among industry press. I did this through a combination of stand-alone pitching, submitting the products for awards, and responding to editorial calendar story opportunities.
Results:
The announcement of the new president was picked up in the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, Chief Learning Officer (online) and the San Francisco Business Times.
I was able to get Ninth House products highlighted in a Training & Development (T&D) Attention Shoppers story and handled the application process for three that Ninth House won that year:
-CLO’s Gold Learning In Practice Vendor award
-HR Executive’s Top Training Products of 2007
-Learning Leaders award from Bersin & Associates.
CEO Jeff Snipes was noted as #45 on the Leadership Excellence Top 100 Thought Leaders list, was quoted in a story from Training Magazine’s Show Daily and featured in a CEO profile in San Francisco Business Times. CTO Adam Nelson was quoted in two stories for Training Magazine on simulations.
